Transparity are delighted to announce the launch of a brand new internal resource group as part of their continuing commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Named “wit”, the homonym stands for both “Women in Technology” and “Women in Transparity”. The group has been set up to inform and support women within the company, as well as to gather feedback and ideas for how to encourage more women to join the team.
Michelle Wilson, People & Culture Partner at Transparity, commented: “The percentage of women that make up the UK population is just over 50%; however, data from UCAS indicates that just 24% of the UK workforce in the STEM sector is female.
“This shows that women are greatly underrepresented within organisations in our industry, and we want to start by changing that within our own business. The inequality was also highlighted to us by the Diversity Report from the Tech Talent Charter; an organisation where we recently became a signatory.”
wit will also host a roundtable, where members can regularly get together to explore different topics, hear from guest speakers, and consider action that can be taken to support this initiative industry-wide. Members will also give their opinions on how the company can attract the very best women in the IT industry to become part of Team Transparity.
Additionally, the group will hold collaborative sessions with the men of Transparity, who are actively encouraged to share their thoughts on industry challenges and what we can all could do differently.
